Stockton, CA lifts fireworks ban
STOCKTON - The City Council lifted Stockton's fireworks ban Tuesday, with officials saying people used them anyway and that local charities could benefit from selling fireworks at roadside stands.
Nonprofit groups and TNT Fireworks Inc., a distributor, lobbied council members to lift the ban, and the Fire Department, which previously warned against fireworks, recommended they be allowed.
