TNT Fireworks sponsors Spirit of Freedom Celebration
.FLORENCE - The biggest single party in the Shoals will go on as scheduled this summer.
Support from several local businesses and individuals has provided the financial backing needed to continue the Spirit of Freedom celebration July 4.
The official announcement will be made this morning during an organizational meeting in Florence.
The development is a drastic contrast to a week ago when organizers said the weak economy had forced the event's major sponsor - Shoals Radio Group - to cancel the annual celebration.
RegionalCare Hospital Partners, which has agreed to purchase Coffee Health Group properties in the Shoals, is contributing $10,000 toward the celebration. TNT Fireworks is contributing $5,000, with Martin Supply and Bank Independent committing at least $3,000 each.
