South Carolina keeps giving back to their community with TNT Fireworks!
The Delmae Ruritan Club of Florence, SC will be running two fireworks stands in the Florence area (Hoffmeyer Rd at the Kmart, and at the S. Irby St Wal-mart) from now through the New Year’s holiday! The Ruritan Club is a local service organization that has nearly 32,000 members throughout the United States who work to improve more than 1,200 local communities. Since the organization’s beginning in 1928, Ruritan Clubs have served America with fellowship, goodwill, and community service. Ruritan is a civic service organization made up of local clubs in urban areas, small towns and rural communities.
Many clubs provide and supervise community recreational centers, sponsor Little League and other athletic programs, involve themselves in anti-litter campaigns, help the sick and needy, and perform a wide range of services to help their communities.
Unlike most civic service organizations, Ruritan rarely has national programs. Rather, each club surveys its own community as to the needs of that community and then works to meet some of those needs. Nearly all clubs work locally with FFA, 4-H and other organizations serving youth. Nearly one in every three Ruritan clubs sponsors a Boy or Girl Scout unit.
In Orangeburg, SC, Old Mt Zion Baptist Church will also be running a fireworks fundraising sale from now through the New Year’s Holiday! Their stand is located in the Papa John’s Parking lot at 2365 Chestnut St. (across from the mall) in Orangeburg. Hours are from 10am to 10pm, and a portion of each purchase stays right in the local community.
